Rallye du Maroc completed: one step away from the World Championship title

The penultimate round of the World Rally-Raid Championship has come to an end after five days of racing. CFMOTO Thunder Racing Team rider Antanas Kanopkinas successfully crossed the finish line of Rallye du Maroc and claimed another victory this season.
Over the five days, the competitors covered a total of 2,637 kilometres, including 1,530 kilometres of special stages.
Even before the start, Kanopkinas said that Rallye du Maroc would be one of the toughest events of the season – and he was right. The demanding and fast stages took a great deal out of the competitors, while temperatures frequently climbing above 40°C added another challenge.
“The final day is done – Rallye du Maroc is over. I definitely didn’t want to relax too much today, so it was full throttle all the way. I’m in a great position both in the quad category and in the overall FIM standings, and I’m very happy about that. I’m happy for our whole team,” Kanopkinas said after crossing the finish line.
He also expressed his gratitude to the entire team, his family, friends and, of course, the partners whose support means so much throughout the season.
There is no secret about the team’s goal this year – to become World Champions once again. There was a small mathematical chance of securing the title already in Morocco, but that scenario did not materialise, as one of Kanopkinas’ closest rivals finished second. This means the current points advantage is not yet enough to seal the championship.
The team, however, was fully prepared for this scenario and already has its sights set on the next challenge: Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. The final round of the W2RC season will take place on November 22–27. That is where the decisive battle for the World Championship title will take place.
