Racing may seem like a life of constant excitement and adrenaline, but behind the scenes, the real challenges often look quite different. After learning that the Morocco Rally would not feature a quad category, CFMOTO Thunder Racing Team decided to shift its focus to the Fenix and Dinaric rallies in Croatia. Even with the calendar adjusted, the team still had to resolve last-minute issues to make it to the start line.
The team’s last outing was in South Africa at the end of May, where they claimed both first and second place in the quad category. But after every finish comes a demanding logistics operation. The quads’ return from South Africa took longer than expected, leaving the team with just a couple of days before heading to Croatia.
“Our quads only came back on Monday, leaving no time for the usual maintenance that we carry out before and after every race,” said CFMOTO Thunder Racing Team rider Antanas Kanopkinas. “That’s why I’ll be competing with my spare quad, which was actually being prepared for next season. It does disrupt our long-term plans a bit, but we’ve managed to adapt. Despite the chaos, I believe we’re ready.”
Joining Kanopkinas on the start line is teammate Adomas Gančierius, who last raced and stood on the podium two years ago. With the competition ready quads delayed arrival, he will also be riding his personal quad.
The Dinaric rally in Croatia will span five days of demanding racing across the country’s spectacular mountain terrain. With 13 riders lining up in the quad category, both Kanopkinas and Gančierius are gearing up for a highly competitive battle.
