Last dance before Dakar: CFMOTO Thunder Racing Team is already in Morocco

For the athletes of the rally raid discipline, every season begins with the start of the Dakar Rally and ends in Morocco, where the last round of the world championship will start on Sunday. At the starting line of the Rallye du Maroc, quad bike racer Antanas Kanopkinas, who ranks third in the world championship quad bike standings, will also take part.

This rally is characterized by an extremely large number of participants: almost two and a half hundred crews will compete here, including the most famous names in the world. For many, the positions of the world championship will be decided here, so all five days promise to be tense. Athletes will cover a total of 2,468 kilometers, of which 1,512 will be speed sections. According to the organizers, most of the distance will consist of gravel roads, 25% of the distance will have to be driven on sand tracks, and five percent - on dunes. The first speed stage, otherwise known as the prologue, starts on Sunday. After that, five days of competition await.

The CFMOTO Thunder Racing Team has already arrived in Morocco, where they had to pass the technical and administrative commissions, meet with local partner representatives and other work before the start. A. Kanopkinas jokes that as soon as he arrived, he managed to confuse the time zones: "We arrived at the bivouac at 3AM after a night flight, and in the morning, having mixed up the time, I went to the airport an hour earlier to pick up the car. On that occasion, I had already walked almost all of my daily steps already early in the morning."

The athlete says that the team started preparations early in the morning and managed to pass the technical and administrative commissions by noon.

"We even gone to the shakedown stage, where we drove a few kilometers, took the first photos - everything went well. Now we are waiting for guests from the Moroccan CFMOTO representative office, the rally organizer also promised to stop by. We start the Moroccan Rally with a very good mood", said A. Kanopkinas.
